The start of the year is always a good time for reflection. Looking back on 2022, we can likely all agree that it was a year like no other. For us, it meant evaluating how we can better serve you and your families in a changed environment. Ultimately, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue some of our products to better focus our resources on our formula products, which remain the most popular of our entire portfolio.
- Due to a decline in demand, Nutricia will be discontinuing the Loprofin® and Milupa® range of low protein foods (US and Canada only). We will no longer be offering these products after March 31, 2023 (while supplies last). Please consider organizations such as PKU Perspectives for your low protein food needs.
- We have also made the decision to discontinue a few of our formula items, such as PhenylAde® 40, PhenylAde® Essential POUCHES (note: POUCHES only; cans will come back soon), TYR Lophlex® LQ and single amino acids. Please see the attached table for more information including recommendations for alternative products and talk to your metabolic healthcare team if you are affected by these formula changes. They will be the best resource for you in finding an alternative product.
We recognize the important role our products play in your lives and the adjustments this discontinuation will require. Please know that our decision has not been taken lightly, and we thank you for your loyalty and understanding. Our mission remains to provide the best products, support, education, and care to the metabolic community now and for many years to come.
